Cranksgiving 2022 is coming on November 19. The location is Zion Lutheran Church, 1697 Lafond Avenue in St. Paul. This is a pedal powered food drive where participants ride bicycles from store to store and purchase items to donate to the food outreach program at Zion Lutheran Church. Every Thursday, the folks at Zion serve a free hot meal to anyone who wants to eat. During the meal, they also give away bags of groceries to anyone who wants one. All items collected at Cranksgiving are either given away in the grocery bags or used to cook the weekly meal.
We are offering an alley-cat style race with prizes for speed. We are also offering a non-competitive cruise where participants can choose their stops from the list of race stops, purchase items, and bring them back to the church. People can also drop off items at the church during the event. Residents of the Hamline Midway neighborhood can call the shop at 651-641-1037 to request that Mr. Michael pick up donations from their homes, by bicycle of course. Deadline for scheduling a home pickup is Friday, November 18 at noon.
